Pittsburgh Area Interest Group – Pittsburgh, PA

SGMP is in the process of forming a chapter to serve members in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area. If you are interested in supporting the formation efforts of that chapter, or in affiliating with this chapter upon approval of its charter, you are encouraged to contact Karen Lockhart, CMP, CGMP, in Pittsburgh (karen.lockhart@pr.netl.doe.gov and 412-386-4763) or Rob Bergeron, CAE, at the SGMP headquarters (rob.bergeron@sgmp.org and 703-549-0892).

This interest group held a kick-off Awareness Meeting in 2008 and now meets every other month (during the odd-numbered months). It is in the process of completing its chapter formation requirements—which include confirming membership of 35 chapter members—in order to formally request a charter from SGMP.

Government meeting professionals who do business in the Pittsburgh area may declare their interest in affiliating with this group now to count toward their drive for 35 and their goal of chartering by the end of 2009.
