ASSOCIATIONS

  • Convention Industry Council (CIC)
    The Convention Industry Council (CIC) is comprised of 31 organizations (including SGMP) representing the convention, meeting and exhibition industry, and travel and tourism generally. CIC is responsible for administering the Certified Meeting Professional certification program.
  • International Special Events Society
    The International Special Events Society is comprised of over 3,000 professionals in over a dozen countries representing special event producers (from festivals to trade shows), caterers, decorators, florists, destination management companies, rental companies, special effects experts, tent suppliers, audio-visual technicians, party and convention coordinators, balloon artists, educators, journalists, hotel sales managers, specialty entertainers, convention center managers, and many more. It as founded in 1987 to foster enlightened performance through education while promoting ethical conduct. ISES works to join professionals to focus on the "event as a whole" rather than its individual parts.
  • Meeting Professionals International (MPI)
    MPI is the world's largest association of meeting industry professionals with more than 17,000 members.
  • The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)
    PCMA is an international organization of association meeting professionals dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of meetings, conventions, and exhibitions through member and industry education and promotion of the value of the meetings industry to the general public.
  • National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP)
    The National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated primarily to the training needs of African American meeting planners.
  • National Speakers Association (NSA)
    The National Speakers Association (NSA) is the premiere organization for experts who speak professionally. NSA members include experts in a variety of industries and disciplines, who reach audiences as trainers, educators, humorists, motivators, consultants and authors.
