SGMP is recognized as a leader in the meetings and hospitality industry through its partners and affiliation in the Convention Industry Council (CIC). SGMP provides the largest forum for education and networking within the unique and diverse market of the government meetings industry. We currently have 32 chapters based throughout the country from coast to coast and are continuously expanding our reach. Education and training opportunities are available through our local monthly chapter programming, nationally offered courses and our annual national education conference covering topics ranging from ethics and protocol to green meetings and contracting. Our premiere certification course, the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) was launched in 2005 and is the most comprehensive certification course available for government planners and suppliers.
