Our mission is to enhance the knowledge and expertise of government meeting professionals. Our objectives are to improve the quality and promote the cost-effectiveness of government meetings. The SGMP membership experience is delivered through education, resources and networking.

We are now in our third consecutive year of membership growth and chapter expansion and SGMP has now grown to 3,500 members and 33 chapters. Our chapters play a significant part of the SGMP experience as the face of our Society since chapter affiliation is available to every member at no additional charge. In addition to what the national organization provides, all chapter members receive additional member benefits exclusively through that chapter.

• The "CGMP" designation — the highest available specifically for government meeting professionals — is available exclusively to SGMP members

• The National Education Conference (NEC) offers ~30 hours of educational sessions for Contact Hour credits
• Chapter meetings feature a different topic and speaker every month, often for Contact Hour credit
