Rear Admiral Marty Evans, US Navy (Retired) spent nearly 30 years with the US Navy and is recognized for being the first woman to command a US naval station. During her time with the US Navy, she addressed gender based issues that raised awareness of the Tailhook scandal. When Rear Admirial Evans retired in 1998, she was the highest ranking woman in the Navy. Since ending her naval career, she has led both the Girl Scouts of the USA and the American Red Cross. She has been named Executive of the Year by Non Profit Times for her outstanding leadership during hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and the 2004 Asian tsunami. Rear Admiral Evans enjoys golf in her spare time and has served as the Acting Commissioner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association. We look forward to meeting her in June in Norfolk! |
