She resides in Detroit with her husband, Tyler, and two children, Eleanor (5) and Jack (2).
When I was first entered the meetings and events industry, I joined a handful of professional trade organizations, including my local chapter of SGMP. I will never forget my first meeting and as a result of that first positive experience I have only missed a handful since that day.On the cold February day that I made the one and a half hours drive to this meeting, I had already attended a few meetings for other trade organizations. As I'm sure we have all experienced, it can be hard to make a connection in a room of people you don't know, especially when they all know each other. I expected more of the same from this meeting, but I was so wrong! I walked into the building and someone I had never met looked at me and said, “Hey! You must be Stacy! Let me grab your name tag and introduce you around.” Every single person was just as nice and welcoming. I can't tell you who the speaker was or what they talked about, but I can you tell you that I left that day with 30 new friends who love to connect, share knowledge, ideas and business.
Our chapter still strives to maintain our reputation of being warm and welcoming. We have instituted practices to ensure our new members have a buddy to welcome them to their first meeting and reach out to them to make sure they know how much their membership in SGMP is valued.
It is an honor to be associated with this incredible group of meetings and events professionals and I look forward to many years of contributing back to the success of our organization.
