Scholarships for Government Meeting Planners

SGMP's Gilmer Institute of Learning provides scholarships to SGMP meeting planner members to attend the National Education Conference (NEC). Scholarship awards are available to eligible planners who would not be able to attend NEC without financial assistance. Scholarships are funded by revenue received from the auction during NEC.

About the 2022 NEC

SGMP's 40th Annual National Education Conference (2022 NEC) will be held June 14-16, 2022 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. Pre-conference events will include the Joint Leadership Meeting (JLM) for chapter leaders the morning of June 14 and the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) Course to be held in person June 11-14.

The conference features two keynotes, a general session, and educational breakouts on government meeting and event topics including education and programming, ethics, facilities and services, financial and contract management, logistics, personal and professional development, protocol, technology, and travel. Government meeting professionals can earn multiple credits toward recertification for CGMP and CMP designations.

Attendees take advantage of ample time for networking during networking breaks, sponsor's row, opening reception, Sam Gilmer Awards Dinner and reception, and a State of the Society luncheon. Optional activities include participating in the silent and live auction, morning fun run/walk, and a give-back project to help a local charity. Learn more about pricing for the conference.
