SGMP Webinar: Emergency Planning for Government Meeting Professionals

Through a variety of stories and real-world events, Angela will share planning and operational considerations that meeting planners should think about when planning indoor and outdoor events. She will discuss how to conduct a threat assessment and will provide resources on how to deal with the media in the event of a disaster at your event or venue.
Angela Eastman worked for over 25 years in the field of Parks and Recreation and event management. She served as the Citywide Event and Security Manager for the City of St. Paul and has coordinated over 2500 large events, including such large events as Irish Fair of Minnesota, Cirque du Soleil, Extreme Makeover Television Show. She had a key role in the 2008 Republican National Convention and served as a Deputy Operations Chief for the City of Minneapolis for Superbowl LII. She and her husband own Events by Eastman, Inc. an event planning and production company.
Angela is a certified Emergency Manager and is currently employed as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator in Washington County, MN. She completed Disaster Event Management Training through the Center for Police Organizational Studies in San Diego, CA and Event Security Planning for Public Safety Professionals through FEMA and the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium. She is a Certified Emergency Manager having completed over 150 hours of coursework.
