As Government & Military Sales Manager, Wayne Callis
promotes his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia as a premier meetings destination. He has served in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, working in various markets with Omni, Marriott, Sheraton, and Westin hotels. His position with VisitNorfolk includes servicing all government and military associations, as well as federal and state government agencies and associations.
Wayne is a member of the Old Dominion and National Capital Chapters of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP). He served two terms as the Old Dominion Chapter Treasurer and received the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) designation in 2013. Wayne currently serves on the Gilmer Institute of Learning (GIL) as a fundraising co-chair for SGMP and recently was honored with the distinguished award of Sam Gilmer Supplier of the Year at the 2021 National Education Conference.
Wayne also serves on the Hampton Roads Navy League, Executive Board as VP of Development and the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia, Board of Directors.
Shannon Gallagher, MBA, MA, CGMP,
is the Director of Sales & Marketing with the brand new Tru by Hilton Baltimore Harbor East. With over 16 years of experience working in Hotels, Shannon is known for her hospitality and ability to create memorable experiences for her clients.
In 2003, Shannon began her career as a lifeguard with Hilton and worked her way through the departments giving her the knowledge and background to be truly successful in her industry. Shannon’s shared passion for travel and hospitality has driven her to love helping others feel at home when they are not.
Shannon has also served on the board of Baltimore Tourism Association, Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, Opportunity Builders Inc. and currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Government Meeting Professionals and the American Red Cross of Central Maryland.
Shannon is the happiest with her furbabies, Bella and Bentlee, out on an adventurous hiking trail or attending a live concert!
As a Hilton Worldwide Sales Senior Manager, Christina Saragnese, CGMP
oversees the government market representing Hilton’s 4000+ US-based Hotels. From her vantage point, she works to identify the trends impacting business in the government market and coaches & supports her hotel partners towards successful understanding and execution of government lodging & conferences. Prior to joining the Hilton Worldwide Sales team, Christina was the Government Sales Manager on property in the DC area with The Washington Hilton & Capital Hilton and DoubleTree/Embassy Suites complex in Crystal City. Though she grew up in New Jersey, as Hospitality & Tourism Management major at the University of South Carolina, you can find her cheering on her favorite Gamecock football team each Saturday in the fall. Currently, she resides in Oceanside, CA alongside her fiancé who is a US Marine stationed at Pendleton and enjoys all the West Coast has to offer until their return East in a few years.
