Session Title: The Power of Connection: Building Better Networks That Work

Session Description: Networking isn’t just about exchanging business cards — it’s about building relationships that lead to shared opportunities, collaboration, and professional growth.

This interactive session helps both new and experienced professionals develop confidence and strategy around making meaningful connections. Through guided activities — including a personal network mapping exercise, a lively “Speed Connect” exchange, and group reflection — participants will explore how to build, nurture, and sustain professional relationships that support long-term success. Attendees will walk away with practical tools, actionable insights, and genuine connections that extend well beyond the session itself.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Assess their current professional network and identify relationship gaps and opportunities for purposeful growth.
• Demonstrate effective communication and engagement techniques to strengthen professional relationships during structured networking activities.
• Develop a personalized follow-up strategy to maintain new connections and translate networking efforts into professional outcomes.

Facilitator: Jenny Moore, CGMP,CMP,CMM

Jenny Moore is the Group Sales Manager at Spirit Mountain Casino & Lodge and has worked in the hospitality and meetings industry for nearly three decades. Known for her creativity, humor, and relationship-driven approach, Jenny has been a “start-up employee” since the casino’s opening and now oversees group sales, banquets, and event operations.

She currently serves as Treasurer for the Greater Oregon Society of Government Meeting Professionals (GOSGMP) and President-Elect for MPI Oregon, with a deep commitment to education, leadership development, and building community across the meetings industry. Jenny’s facilitation style blends practical tools with authentic connection — empowering professionals to grow their networks with confidence and purpose.

November Fundraising

What is our $1 per ticket monthly drawing theme for November? You guessed it, “No Shave November”! (Ok, maybe you didn’t guess….but still….). Wondering what item to bring to donate to the drawing? Something that focuses on self-care. Maybe a fancy new razor, nice smelling lotion, your favorite bath soaking salts, a gift card to a cool coffee shop, a good book to read, a face mask, cozy slippers, fuzzy blanket, a journal…the options are endless for items that demonstrate taking some time to care for oneself!

In addition, we have TWO 50/50 drawings again this year! Tickets are $5 each. The first drawing is from September – December. We will draw a winner who will take home some Grinch Greenbacks at the December meeting! The second 50/50 drawing will go from February – June and some lucky person will win Summer Escape Cash at our June meeting!
