Monthly meetings are $11 for planners and $26 for suppliers. Non-members may attend their first event for free, they may attend a second meeting without joining if they pay, but must join to attend a third event. A 50/50 raffle will be available to enter at the meeting with cash or check only, $1 per ticket for $5 for 6.

Presentation: The Power of Tourism: How CVBs Work in Communities to Drive the Economy and Enhance Quality of Life with Megan McConachie, CTA, PMP, TMP with Visit Columbia.  

Megan McConachie has worked at the City of Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau for over 20 years, currently serving as the Communications and Outreach Supervisor. In her role, she oversees the destination’s marketing and public relations initiatives while supervising team members working on the website, industry relations and social media.

Additionally, Megan is involved in multiple citywide projects, including the City’s Strategic Plan and the Organizational Excellence Committee. She is a Certified Tourism Ambassador and is also a member of the Mid-Missouri Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and a national member in the Travel and Tourism sector.
 
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism from Truman State University in 2005 and her Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University in 2019.
 
She is a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Leadership Columbia Class of 2016, and was the recipient of the Midwest Excellence Institute’s Jim Williamson Award for Achievement in Quality in 2017. Finally, Megan was named to the Columbia Business Times’ 20 Under 40 in 2018.

A Columbia native, Megan is an avid fan of Mizzou sports and the St. Louis Cardinals, loves to travel, makes a mean to-do list, and lives with her two cats, Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler.
